The programme was interesting. Most English parents are relatively lazy when it comes to educating their children, they think it's the school's job, just like they think their health is the NHS's responsibility!

I live in Asia and whilst many of the kids are exceptional at educational studies they rarely go any further than middle management. They lack skills which take years to learn-grace, compromise and solution finding. The can recite an MBA book but rarely have the ability to implement the learnings. Behind most successful chinese companies is a ruthless westerner.
So if Chinese learnings are so good why do they send their kids to a western school? As my chinese friend tells me it's about kaisu i.e. keeping up with Jones' or this case keeping up with the Wongs. -
I thought my mum was strict...she's a kitten compared to these tiger mamas!"

Loved the programme on TV last night.
My husband sometimes gives me a hard time about getting my daughter to do extra maths in the holidays but your programme has helped him understand why and that actually it is nothing compared to what Asian parents ask of their children !!
I think your programme will really help bridge the gap and promote understanding between Western and Asian cultures and attitudes. -
